When Whitney isn't mesmerizing audiences with her captivating performances, she dedicates her time to teaching musicians how to strategically and efficiently run their own business without relying on a manager, booking agent, or record label. She believes in empowering artists to take control of their destinies.
With an impressive track record, including the release of four albums and a recent collaboration with the Seattle Symphony, Whitney has embarked on West Coast and European tours, raising over $20,000 through successful crowdfunding campaigns. Whitney began her music career as a busker in the famous Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington. During this time she garnered thousands of fans and featured in an award winning documentary, Find Your Way: a Busker's Documentary about her journey as a street performer.
Steadfast EP was released which was produced by Grammy Award Winning Producer, Pete Stewart. Whitney raised over $5,000 in a Kickstarter campaign to create this record.
Mongé toured the West Coast three times from Bellingham, WA to Los Angeles, CA and performing regularly at premiere venues down the coast. She has supported Ziggy Marley, Allen Stone, KT Tunstall, Amy Helm, Alice Smith, Ayron Jones, Sister Hazel, and Patrick Sweeney.
Whitney released her self produced second EP, Stone recorded at Stone Gossard's (Pearl Jam) studio and performed her first sold out show at the Triple Door. She raised just under $12,000 in another Kickstarter campaign for this project, $4K over her goal.
In the fall of 2018 Whitney toured the UK and Italy playing several sold out shows in her stint. The tour was in support of her third EP, Carry On released on November 27th, 2018. The album garnered attention from several acclaimed sources including a cover feature in The Seattle Times.
Whitney was elected twice as a Governor Board Member for the GRAMMY Pacific Northwest Recording Academy Chapter Board where she volunteered her time getting musicians involved with the organization. She was asked to be a part on several speaking panels including Capitol Hill Block Party Artist Panel & KEXP's Mastering the Hustle #17 about being an independent artist and began mentoring her first clients.
During the pandemic like many artists, Whitney made the most of the situation and performed many online streaming event, including a song collaboration of Stevie Wonder's "Heaven Help Us All" with Head & the Heart and Allen Stone, a fundraiser event for Pike Place Market with Brandi Carlile, and King County's first drive-in show at Marymoor Amphitheater with the Seattle Symphony. She had the amazing opportunity to record a full live album with the Grammy award winning orchestra for their Essential Series that came out a year later August 2021 making this Whitney's 4th latest album.
After a long hiatus from performing, Whitney relocated to Asheville, North Carolina where she is focusing on community building and working with the local music & arts scene. Although she is still planning tours & new music releases for 2023, helping other artists has always been a passion of hers and she believes PRPL is needed in this blooming new music scene.
